LAST RANT: So, what's up with curbsides? From my point of view, if you can't take the time to cut open the hood, fabricate the engine compartment and put in an engine, why not just build those horrid cardboard car things? Or airplanes, that way you can just paste a propeller on the front and PRETEND it's hooked to something. I mean, cars have engines! That's what makes them...well...CARS! If you're going to half ass it, why not just leave off the wheels? And you can just putty over the window openings so you don't have to deal with that bothersome interior view thing.

Or, here you go, switch to one of those little "ick" scales, like 1/43rd or even HO, and then you can just say it's too small for all that engine and drivetrain crap. Or to one of the BIG "ick" scales and tell us the hood's just too heavy for you to get open. We'll all act like we believe you! But in 1/24-25, there just ain't no way it's a complete model car without an engine! And to show I'm reasonable, don't even bother with a tranny or differential, we'll just never look at the bottom, OK?

You would not believe how easy it is to open up the hood on a body. Even with the worst of the lot, die cast, spend five minutes with one of Micro Mark's razor blades in an Exacto handle and you're there... resin bodies are just as easy if not easier and styrene's easiest of the bunch.

Do a little research and it's not that hard to fab a correct firewall, inner fender panels, radiator brace and radiator. And the basis for nearly any engine you would want exists SOMEWHERE!

What do you think?
